Natural operculum shell is held in a silver embrace in this elegant prong setting. Reverse design features curved silver lines that echo the natural striations in the operculum shell. Gold-fill jump rings add an upscale, mixed-metal glow, elevating this unique ocean treasure to heirloom status.
18” bar-link chain in sterling silver.
What’s an operculum, you ask? An operculum is the “trap door” of the wavy turban snail, native to my Southern California waters. It allows the creature to protect itself while tucked into its shell, making it a lovely reminder of finding security in troubled times.
Handmade by Jess of Low Tide Landing in San Diego, California. Sterling silver (0.925) and gold-fill. Natural operculum shell ethically beachcombed in California.
