Operculum Swirl Pendants
Operculum Swirl Pendants
Gently swirling, mysterious operculum shells are rare to find on the shore, and even rarer to see set into jewelry. I love using these elegant shells to create a piece that speaks of protection and safety — as well as seaswept adventure.
Operculums are the “trap door” of the wavy turban snail, allowing the creature to close itself safely inside its shell. Sometimes we all need to retreat into safety and quiet to recharge and refresh our souls. Whether you’re in a season of quiet, or ready to step out boldly into the world, an operculum shell is a lovely piece to carry with you.
Set in silver with a hidden swirl accent on the reverse, and hanging on an 18” silver beaded chain.
100% handmade from sterling silver (0.925) and natural operculum shell, ethically sourced by Southern California mermaids. Made by Jess of Low Tide Landing in San Diego, California.
