This sweet seashell necklace from the Kelp Nouveau collection features a glowing green abalone shell cabochon nestled among seaweed fronds and a silver seashell. Each component is comprised of two layers of sterling silver sheet and have been domed to create a three-dimensional effect. Sterling silver “pebbles” accent the piece, which is attached to a sterling silver chain.

I create the seashell and seaweed by first hand-drawing each element, then sawing them out individually. Pieces are backed on silver and sawn out again, then arranged and soldered onto the backplate with the cabochon. No templates or automated machines are used to create these hand-fabricated, one of a kind rings.
