February Collection Preview: Facets of the Deep

Phew!

2025 had such a slow and sluggish start for me, so having even a single handful of finished work feels like such an achievement — one that I’m really proud of.

Towards the end of the year I branched out (thanks to the online tutelage of the amazing Lucy Walker of the Metalsmith Academy) and learned some stone setting techniques for faceted stones. While in the past I’d always claimed they weren’t my vibe, I have to admit the deep, sparkling blues of these topaz stones really settled into my soul. It’s like catching glimpses of a deeper underwater world, just beneath the surface!

The pieces in this February collection combine the rugged, rustic look of my classic LTL style (organic sea wrack, hand-carved humpback whale, clusters of tiny barnacles) with the upscale, elegant shine of faceted blue topaz. Kind of a match made in salty heaven!

You’ll also see a “reboot” of another LTL classic, the MINI SPLASH sea glass stacker rings! I’ve got 5 pairs in set sizes that will be coming to the shop as a tagalong to the main collection pieces. They’re all set to go live this Thursday, February 20 at 12:00 noon (Pacific time).

(note: Southern Right Whale and Kelp necklace is a custom commission and not part of the Facets of the Deep Collection. Get info on how to order your own custom piece here!)
